Waterlemon is one of those cafés in Beirut you go to and stay in for an hour or two. It looks like a cross between something out of Barbarella and a grassy field. From its white plastic-fantastic sofas to the Chinese hanging basket seating to the glass globe light fixtures and coloured gel-filled place mats, this boutique juice bar and restaurant is all bright, shiny and spacey. The serious interior design was dreamed up by Georges Chidiac and four times a year a new seasonal theme is introduced which sees the napkins, walls, waiter’s outfits and seat covers change colour. Waterlemon is fresh and funky, bright and breezy; it’s a great place to stop for a fruit juice and a slice of cake while shopping in ABC mall, before you fight your way back through the masses that come here to buy, buy, buy.
