Hg2 : The Hedonist

Casablanca

Casablanca is an institution, one of most famous restaurants in Beirut. An atmospheric place in a traditional French Mandate period Lebanese house by the sea, Casablanca is perfect for Sunday brunch, lunch or dinner. rn

It’s run by Beirut’s legendary Johnny Farah and his Asian wife, who concentrate on the style and quality of (unsurprisingly) East-meets-West fusion food. The daily menu includes good, fresh fish and fantastic lobster served with organic vegetables brought in from the Farahs’ farm in the countryside.

Over the years a devoted clientele has kept it lively and filled with people, making booking a necessity any day of the week. On the down-side the acoustics are poor and it can get noisy, especially when there’s a DJ installed (Thursday to Sunday).
