The Nhow hotel chain has a new Berlin boutique hotel, designed by famously flamboyant starchitect Karim Rashid and based entirely around music. The rock ‘n’ roll concept runs throughout, from an on-site recording studio to guitars for sale on the room service menu. The design of the whole thing is suitably surreal , too, with gravity-defying, hyper-glossy furnishings stuffed inside an austere, pseudo-industrial exterior. Acting as backdrop for impromptu jamming sessions and DJ sets, it’s certainly not the stay for those in search of shut-eye. That said, the rooms – outfitted in pink, blue or grey – are perfectly comfortable for wannabe superstars, and downstairs guests will find all the usual amenities; a bar, restaurant, gym and spa. Topping things off is a striking silver box (making up the 8th, 9th and 10th floors) that juts out almost 70-feet from the building for a showstopping spectacle indeed.
