The Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton empire, is one of the only hotels in Bogota where there is a small chocolate fountain in the lobby, a welcome change from the standard receptionist mints. There’s a separate lounge and bedroom in each of the 96 suites, and though the rooms aren’t spectacularly stylish, they are comfortable and pleasant with light blue duvets and curtains. The bar hosts a popular happy hour every night, and the large, brightly-lit dining room lays out a huge continental breakfast each morning for pre-meeting sustenance. Although you’re more likely to see North American than Latin American visitors here, few of the staff speak English and service feels a little impersonal. But both the spa and location are definite boons, and although you’ll get few surprises at this chain, you’re unlikely to meet any disasters, either.
