A burned-out American trader named Phil who lived in Palermo Viejo went to Bar 6 for breakfast every day for six months. He loved to slouch down on the velvet sofas and look up at the tall, cement ceiling and brick walls whilst pondering the latest Argentine economic crash over his Clarín newspaper.
He would then chat to his favourite waitress, Ines, who he was convinced had fallen in love with him. After enjoying a cup of coffee, a media luna (croissant), yogurt and a glass of orange juice, he would tip Ines well and head home to contemplate lunch, a happy man. The beautiful Ines, smiling inwardly, always looked forward to his next visit.
Bar 6 is always an ideal spot for breakfast, tea and cakes, a post-shopping gin and tonic – or for relaxing and falling in love. It’s situated right in the front row of Palermo Viejo’s fashion show, so dress to kill – especially at the weekends when local DJs work their chilled beats.
