What on earth a yellow ski igloo straight from the Andes is doing riverside on the Tigre delta is anyone’s guess. But it’s here and it now hovers above the flood plains, along with two further wooden decks and walkways. Either drive down to the river – which takes 25 minutes with an attacking driver at the wheel – and take a wakeboarding trip up the river to find Lima Limo, or hop into a helicopter, which will land you on the doorstep.
The Delta from above is spectacular. At weekends Lima Limo becomes crammed with porteños who own riverside retreats, but during the week it remains a quietly beautiful spot for lunch. Tie up your speed boat or glide in on your landing craft for ravioli (large enough to satisfy an army of Italian soldiers), or pizza and beef that would meet the approval of even the pickiest porteños. Intoxicated somersaults off the pier are encouraged.
