It may seem wrong to frequent Italian restaurants in Chamonix, but if your eatery of choice is Casa Valerio, you won’t regret your decision. This excellent Italian has a menu that positively groans under the weight of 50 different types of pizza.
As something of a local celebrity, the restaurant has even been given the nod of approval by Italian company Isoquality for its high quality ingredients (the first award of its kind in France). Certainly, you won’t be served up old stodge here.
Drawing on authentic recipes from both northern and southern Italy, other dishes span antipasti, pasta, fresh fish, meat and loving homemade Italian desserts. A great wine cellar wraps things up nicely.
