The second Novikov Group restaurant outside London, Novikov in Dubai is a big, bold dining experience. We’re talking moody, colourful lighting, an eclectic menu, swaying orchids, and tables full of happy diners as far as the eye can see. It’s easy to get swept up by the atmosphere – part-club, part-social scene, all-thrill – and forget why you came there in the first place. But then you start to notice the huge variety of dishes brought to your neighbours’ tables, and the menu once again grabs your attention.
The Asian Market at Novikov is one of the undeniable draws. The scope is vast. At dinner, there’s chipirones from Portugal, whole Canadian lobster, kimchi Wagyu dumplings from Japan, Scottish salmon teriyaki and wok-fried Chilean seabass with chilli and garlic sauce. There’s sushi, dim sum, maki and Novikov’s own “new style” sashimi – one such is a mouthwatering mix of scallop and black truffle. Not to mention salads, soup, and signature dishes like hamachi carpaccio and the Wagyu tacos.
While the restaurant is where you go for a gastronomic tour of the globe, all while maintaining an Asian bent, the lounge is the place for drinks, light dining and music from resident DJ Alex Twin. All told, Novikov promises much and delivers more in terms of a great night out in Dubai.
