Chic Ca’D’Oro is one of the more fashionable cafes in Istanbul; in fact, cafe just doesn’t seem the right word for it. Ca’D’Oro’s restaurant space is immaculate, with glass walls which afford panoramic views across the port and inland to Istanbul, and its bar is swanky, a favourite post-work haunt for the bankers working nearby.
All this also means Ca’D’Oro is pricier than your average Istanbul cafe, but the extra few euros are completely worth it; for those with a discerning palate, the food is tremendous. Boasting a menu created by (almost) celebrity chef Julien Maisonneuve, its gourmet dishes and minimalist interior decor scream Michelin star. Making a reservation is recommended if you’re planning on an evening meal at this wonderfully modern ‘cafe’ in Istanbul’s busiest area.
