The Kilisli Palace
There are very few kebab restaurants on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, so The Kilisli Palace is a welcome waterside addition for those who are bored with the typical fish platter that accompanies the sea view.
Focusing on dishes particular to the Kilis region of south east Turkey on the border of Syria, the menu offers a variety of meze, special pitta and pizza options as well as a range of meat dishes, including the authentic oruk kebab.
The modern palace styling and lure of famous dishes such as the dessert belluriye (made from halep, shredded pastry, rose water and pistachio) is drawing a celebrity crowd. Be sure to book and don’t make after dinner plans at the weekend as once the tables are empty the dancing goes on til dawn.
