Nobu, you say? The international chain of restaurants owned by Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and actor Robert De Niro – the one with the to-die-for Yellowtail Sashimi and the Black Cod Miso? Yes indeed, it’s one and the same. But Nobu Shoreditch expands on the well-established Nobu brand, bringing with it Europe’s first standalone outpost of the Nobu hotel.
That’s right. Diners – a whopping 240 of them – can now indulge in the Nobu restaurant, enjoying the sleek surrounds of the lounge, bar, and outdoor courtyard, and sampling the delights of the sushi counter, before taking themselves upstairs to collapse in seriously sleek style in the hotel. But thanks to the hotel’s 24-hour in-room dining, you never need leave your room to indulge in Nobu’s dishes. And why would you? The rooms, which range from Deluxe to the Nobu Suite, are well-appointed, with luxe Natura Bissê bath amenities and a pleasing, calming palette of grey, tan and blue – ideal for winding down after a day bustling about Shoreditch.
For further indulgence, guests have the run of a state-of-the-art 24-hour gym (ideal for working off the 24-hour room service), as well as access to spa services. The hotel’s even pet-friendly, so Fido doesn’t have to stay home. But why would he? Home is here now… If only.
