When entering Cire Trudon, shopping doesn’t obviously appear to be on the agenda. Unlike most other shops in London, products are not in your face; they do not glare at you asking to be bought. They sit quietly on the side, in cabinets, politely waiting to be stumbled upon by the intrigued shopper. The maze-like layout creates an aged library feel, and as you walk further into the back of the shop, you’re transported into a historic world. This is a world filled with narrative, turquoise blue painted walls, antique chairs, and, most importantly, candles. Marvelously smelling hand-crafted candles. The aroma of each Cire Trudon candle is unique, inspired by a period in history or famous character, and the wax busts are a works of art in themselves.
