Mount Street is quite simply label heaven. From the crazy-high, red-soled Christian Louboutin shoes that make women weak at the knees (figuratively and probably literally) to the masterful drapery and weighty dresses of French designer Alber Elbaz, housed the Lanvin London flagship store.
Balenciaga is fiercely French, and Marc Jacobs, just up the road, is beautifully feminine and English (and perhaps a little cheaper…). If you’re neither a franco- or anglophile, Wolfgang Joop has a cool German line of ready-to-wear dresses at Wunderkind. It’s quite clear that, with a bit of cash to splash, Mount Street is quite the arcadia for high-end fashion shopping in London.
