This wonderful restaurant in Madrid is ostensibly Nordic, but Olsen also counts on a few influences from Argentina, reflecting the provenance of the husband and wife team behind the venture. Upon entering Olsen the long, narrow but very well-stocked bar immediately catches your attention; as well it should, given that it features an extensive selection of around 40 different vodkas.
Indeed, some of the tempting dishes even come with a selection of vodka shots, served in attractive glasses on their own little tray. But aside from the complementary tipples, the food is fantastic – in particular the blinis and the marinated herring. The restaurant is very popular for its excellent brunch on Sundays, and also features a small but cool vodka lounge in the basement for a pre-club copa.
