Nikki Beach, formerly a café/bar named Sunset, is set in the grounds of the Royal Palmeraie Golf Palace, and is without a doubt one of the hippest night-time hang-outs in Marrakech. During the day, people head here to lounge around the attractive, sizeable pool, take an al-fresco lunch, listen to chilled-out music and sip pricey cocktails. Come evening, in the warmer summer months, the DJ pumps the music up, the staff tend to assemble on top of the bar as well as behind it, and the city’s more affluent aficionados turn up to look and feel good. At the time of writing there were plans for a sushi bar, making evening meals also a possibility. During winter, Nikki Beach is often closed in the evenings, so it’s best to check. If that’s the case, or if the weather’s not up to much, head for Pacha, which never fails to pack ’em in over the weekend.
