In December 2009 the Jad Mahal refurbished their old nightclub in a bid to create something more exciting. The former spot had an Arabic cabaret and hookah pipes; Silver, the remake, couldn’t be more different if it tried. Far from the Moroccan themes of the restaurant and bar next door, the owners have taken the idea of a high concept club to a next level (by Marrakech standards anyway). The venue takes its name seriously: enter the doors to find an iced-up, space-age interior that’s as bling as those it deems to attract. There are fire-breathing dancers, podiums for posers and international DJs (and residents) through the week and at weekends. There are also plenty of booths and tables to people-watch from. The downside to all this chrome and eltism is that the space can feel pretty clinical when it’s not busy. Ask to take a look inside first.
