Hg2 : The Hedonist

Royal Mansour

Commissioned by King Mohamed VI himself, Royal Mansour was built to compete directly with luxury heavyweights like La Mamounia. Designed in the style of a classic medina, complete with Andalusian courtyards, winding alleyways, and spectacular water displays and fountains, the property mirrors the winding streets beyond its walls. The 53 ‘rooms’ here are in fact entire riads, meaning guests have the run of several rooms across each building, many with private rooftop pools and terraces with views of the city or Atlas Mountains, as well as numerous living rooms, bars and dining areas. Immensely proportioned (1,400-sq.-ft. to a decidedly palatial 21,520-sq.-ft.), they are all decorated with silks and brocades, ornate tiles and handcrafted wood and antique furniture, with cool open-air courtyards, luxurious bedrooms, dressing rooms and classic contemporary bathrooms. Service is, well, Royal: 24-hour valet, maid and butler service, car rental (with or without driver), and amenities include a library, art gallery, lounge, an immense spa located in its own pavilion and three fantastic restaurants from celebrated chef Yannick Alléno.
