Hg2 : The Hedonist

Casa Mangani

If you don’t know the famous Florentine porcelain called Mangani, you will after visiting Casa Mangani. This homewares shop in Marrakech is full of lamps made from the stuff, pleasantly displayed throughout a happening little show-space. The designs tend to veer between Italian and Moroccan, and vary in shape, size and pattern, but are mostly ornamental. What might prove more eye-catching for the minimalists are the furniture designs of architect/designer Soumaya Jalal, who works with raffia, horse-hair and other materials to produce low-key stylish wall-hangings, cushions, curtains and rugs in pleasing whites, coffees and creams.
