Architecturally, the Art Deco Cavalier Hotel is a gem. Built in 1936 and renovated in 1992, the Cavalier is best visited with a quick lunch at their charming café.
rnThe restaurant offers some adventurous Italian fare and is run by some feisty Latino girls and a couple of ultra-friendly Italian waiters. Since their English is not very good, ordering can be an adventure in itself – and that’s just part of the charm of the Cavalier.
rnThere’s no long list of specials, but instead the staff will advise you. Meatballs seem to be the most popular option. They are good, but are a little filling on a hot day when one of their vegetarian sandwiches might be more appropriate.
