1 Hotel South Beach
As if acknowledging that any interior decor would be hard pushed to outshine the glittering expanse of turquoise blue ocean that beckons through the windows, the 1 Hotel South Beach decided to bring nature into all its guestrooms. After all, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Here, there are plants aplenty, as well as natural, organic fibres in the bedding, and enough reclaimed wood to conjure a feeling of rustic beach house charm. The colour scheme, meanwhile, plays to the 1 Hotel South Beach’s obvious strengths, complementing and enhancing the sensational views gained from being perched right on Miami Beach, with shades of cream and white, light grey and hints of blue.
When it comes to accommodation, the 1 Hotel South Beach hasn’t made it easy. There are your Queens and Kings, Suites and “Homes”, and quite frankly, more penthouses than you can shake a piece of perfectly buffed driftwood at. But all come with high-end amenities and a feeling of zen-like tranquility as standard. Elsewhere in the hotel, guests can enjoy Chef Tom Colicchio’s cuisine at Beachcraft restaurant (with all the deliciousness one might expect from a five-time James Beard award winner), as well as his take on cantina-style eats at The Sand Box. There’s also a rooftop lounge where guests can enjoy cocktails and Japanese-inspired light bites, and a bar, which offers a “farm-to-bar” selection of local beers, as well as cocktails and wine on tap.
There’s plenty to amuse, entertain and satisfy within the walls of the 1 Hotel South Beach, but with 600 feet of pristine white sandy beach just moments from the doors, most guests will migrate ocean-side at some point. But should the bustle of the beach not beckon, guests can recline in the sunshine next to the exclusive rooftop pool, which, of course has the benefit of being near the bar.
