Prime One Twelve
Prime One Twelve is not one the places to eat in Miami if you’re vegetarian, do not approach the bar (or the dining room for that matter) – apparently peanuts went out of style years ago and bacon is back in fashion. It’s probably best to retreat past the hopefuls outside leaning on Lamborghini bonnets and waiting for a table. This is the ‘in’ place to eat on Miami Beach, so even if you do book a table you will be sent to the exceptionally stylish but crowded bar. The main dining area is on the ground floor, but there are a couple of more intimate dining rooms on the first floor of the old Brown’s Hotel. Prime One Twelve is a steak house. It does offer some delicate alternatives, but it would be a shame not to indulge in the rather expensive yet tender steaks served here. Like any hip restaurant in Miami, be prepared to wait for your table, for the waiters to give you attitude and for the food and wine to be overpriced.
