Campo Base is one of the many traditional mountain restaurants, but with a modern twist; be sure to snag a table beside the floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the spectacular views across the Dolomites. There’s also a large sun terrace from which to soak up the views and enjoy the chef’s beautifully barbecued meats. The interiors are loosely themed on Base Camps in Nepal and Tibet, where the owner has travelled extensively; decor comprises prayer flags and photographs of mountains and villages he has visited, and tables are named after mountains such as Cho Oyu and Machupuchare. House specialities include hearty cheese crepes (‘miacci’), pasta dishes and large fresh salads; be sure to bring your appetite.
