Garage is something of a phenomenon in Moscow, as it has actually been open for some time.
As it caters for the clubbing elite, with strict face control, central location and 24-hour opening, you never know quite what you’ll find here and at what time. It seems that 10am on a Sunday morning is a good time to catch pure madness at its height, as the die-hards from Saturday night continue through the weekend.
It’s so named because of its ‘auto’ theme: a bumper hangs over the entrance, car posters adorn the walls, and other car memorabilia, including vintage petrol pumps, are scattered around the room. If you’re really lucky you might get to sit in the backseat of a 1959 Cadillac!
Small and intimate, Garage is tucked away in a basement and consists of two small bars, a restaurant and a dance-floor – what more do you need? DJs normally play ubiquitous dance music, but Garage is particularly well known for its hip-hop and R&B parties on Wednesday nights.
You might catch a male strip show between 1am and 2am on Thursdays and a female one staged at the same times on Saturdays and Sundays.
