Seven Fridays

The Seven Fridays restaurant in Moscow is a temple to the beauty and freedom of Fridays, the haute cuisine of France and Russia and, of course some quirky interior decorating too.

The period mansion house which houses the restaurant was once inhabited by Fyodor Lavrov’s fashion house. Fridays are, apparently, the busiest day of the fashion week, then you can rest. The name of the restaurant came from this fact and the joy that here, if you want to, you can rest all week.

rnIn the entrance courtyard is an outside summer veranda, but on arrival, head straight for the second floor of the house, which is abundantly decorated with early 20th-century antiques – a gramophone, harpsichord, clocks, books and even a piano in the Russian room, where there is also a four-poster bed.
rn
rnThere are six ‘bedrooms’ for dining, each given a nationality, and the corridor that links them is adorned with Singer sewing machines and old Box Brownie cameras.
rn
rnThe Old Moscow menu caters for true connoisseurs of Russian and French haute cuisine and chef Victor Simonin keeps inventing adaptations of traditional dishes. Daily live music completes this truly unique culinary experience. It’s definitely worth the journey!
