Westin Garden City
It may appear to be out on a limb – it’ll take well over an hour to reach Colaba if the traffic is bad, and it usually is – but hotels in Mumbai don’t come much more well-rounded than this. Film City and Sanjay Gandhi National Park are both nearby as is one of the city’s best mega malls, complete with brand spanking new cinemas. It only takes a measly 20 minutes by car from the international airport, too, which if you’re on a short trip, matters.
The restaurant where breakfast is served is high up on the 18th-floor and has great views of the Milk Colony – literally, where the buffalos and cows are kept that provide milk for the city (not something any other hotel can lay claim to). The suites here are ultra-comfy, with Westin’s trademarked Heavenly beds and showers that really are as good as they sound. If you’re lucky, there might even be some macaroons waiting for you as a welcome gift.
Best of all is the Heavenly Spa: ‘preserving wellness in travel’ is the motto, and boy does it keep its word. On account of effort, making guests comfortable and service, this is one of the best hotels in the city, hands-down.
