Such is the stylish appeal of Marie-Sixtine that one outpost simply wasn’t enough for Paris. This fashionable boutique offers seasonal collections of its own-brand clothes that whisper effortless chic and promise that the wearer is a creature of faultless style. It’s a compelling combination. So much so that Marie-Sixtine expanded from one store in 2010, found in the boho area of the Saint Martin canal, to four Parisian boutiques and a flagship within six years.
The flagship threw open its doors in 2016 and immediately instilled itself as a highlight of the already boutique-studded surrounds of Rue de Charonne. Here, Marie-Sixtine is in such estimable company as La Fée Maraboutée, Sessùn and So We Are. It’s the ideal stretch of Paris for an elegant shopping afternoon.
The store is decorated in a soft palette, from the cafe au lait colour of the wooden clothes rails to the white walls and furniture. But the clothes themselves pop in a rainbow of shades. The unifying feature? They’re all fantastically comfortable, soft, and elegant. And as an added bonus, the flagship is also the boutique’s workshop and showroom. It’s the beating heart of the whole enterprise.
If you find the cool, Scandi-chic surrounds of the Marie-Sixtine flagship too seductive to leave, then head upstairs to Chez Marie-Sixtine. Found above the shop, this suite – decked out in sumptuous knits and playful, high-end furnishings – is available to rent for the night or for any trendy event you can put your mind (and cheque-book) to, from knitting to dinner parties, bringing your dream of dwelling inside the store’s undeniably luxurious, cosy aesthetic to life.
