Hg2 : The Hedonist

A Hedonist’s guide to…

Prague

Akropolis
If you're over about 30 you might begin to feel a little old here. Akropolis has that young studenty, slightly alternative edge to it. The drinks are cheap, so's the dope and the music decidedly cool. Check listings to see what's on here.
DOX Centre for Contemp. Art
One of the newer galleries in Prague, the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art has proved popular.
La Fabrique
La Fabrique is deep underground, unfortunately not in a warehouse party sense, just more subterranean. Always busy, the club draws in a local, expat and tourist crowd wooed by cheap drinks and bass-heavy chart and hip-hop classics.
Globe
Globe offers a New American style menu with an Italian spirit....all very very late at night.
Lucerna Music Bar
Lucerna is set in the bowels of a shopping centre, not far from Wenceslas Square. During the week live music is the draw, but at weekends the cheesy club nights bring in a young, drunk crowd. Suitably hidden to keep most stags and tour groups away.
U Zlateho Stromu
Not all that it seems, this bar wants to be all things to all people, providing both a restaurant and a pole dancing club. Slightly seedy but conveniently placed for a fun night out.
Melantrichova Street
Melantrichova promises much, but delivers little of real quality. Manufaktura, a wooden toy shop will appeal to those with a 1950s nostalgia, while the vegetarian delights of Country Life has a growing fan base.
Lemon Leaf
A rare gem and a haven for Thai food lovers. Watch out for the level of spiciness though, as the Czechs like their Pad Thai hot!
Cafe Indigo
Around the corner from one of the schools at the Charles University, Indigo is a favourite of slightly avant-garde students and their professors. With a 'too-cool-for-school' attitude, thankfully it is spurned by the fannypack, camera clutching briga
Nostress Café
Putting itself forward as a haven for relaxation, the Nostress Cafe tries its best to give you a stress-free time. The broad menu has something to suit every taste, although the prices may exclude some visitors from the relaxation its name promises.
Café Orange
Sweet little Italian cafe overlooking leafy Pushkin Square.
Letná Beer Garden
Beautiful beer garden with one of the best views in Prague.
Cycling
The cycling infrastructure in Stockholm is arguably the best in the world which is why in this city two wheels really are better than one. Saddle up!
