Bombay Cocktail Bar
One of the major cocktail bars in Prague and part of the ‘Triangle of Sin’, Bombay (upstairs from the Rasoi Indian restaurant) has made significant strides towards becoming more chichi in recent years. Gone is the coloured crayon drinks list previously plastered all over the mirror behind the bar; in its stead are elegantly bound cocktail menus attracting a correspondingly ‘together’ clientele.
rnStill, leopards don’t change their spots all that quickly, and even though the drinks list stretches towards, well, oblivion, and the interior includes exposed brickwork, the music policy remains clichéd and the crowds are a shade less sophisticated than at nearby Tretters (see page 121).
rnThe foreign contingent is strong here, often hunting in packs; at weekends this is a guaranteed place to find a crowded, buzzing atmosphere fuelled by pretty people, strong booze and euro-pop. If there’s such a thing as a meat upmarket, Bombay may well be it.
