U Cervene Boty
U Cervené Boty (‘The Red Shoe’) is a tiny townhouse hotel in Prague with just four suites, located slap bang on the section of the Royal Way that runs from the Old Town Square to the Castle. Built in the 17th century and renovated in 1996, this charming guesthouse offers bedrooms containing antique furniture and heavy wooden beds, and bathrooms that are fresh, clean and modern.
The owners have done as much as they can to preserve the original feel of the building, although there are plenty of modern features (including satellite TV). The suites are spacious and reasonably bright, but be aware that those overlooking the street tend to get noisy quite early in the morning because of the rousing of the indefatigable tourist hordes.
Down in the historic cellars of the hotel there’s a stylish wine bar that seats 35 and offers a decent range of wines. U Cervené Boty is a great little place to stay, and very good value for what and where it is.
