Narodni Divadlo (The National Theatre) is not only a beautiful building, but is among the best theatres in Prague. Opened in 1881, it is located on the river bank and forms part of the fantastic frontage that symbolises the city. Its gold roof catches the sun, particularly in the evening, and can be seen from miles around. Internally it is similar to the Estates Theatre, with a sumptuous red and gold interior spread over four levels.
rnTickets can be purchased from the box office around the corner from the theatre or on the evening of the performance from the foyer, as well as online. However, for the best deals and most accurate information on the seats available, head straight to the box office – performances often sell out, so for higher-end tickets, a little research may be needed.
rnThe programme is a mixed rotation of opera, ballet and theatre, which requires intense daily set changes.
