A Hedonist’s guide to…

Prague

Akropolis
If you're over about 30 you might begin to feel a little old here. Akropolis has that young studenty, slightly alternative edge to it. The drinks are cheap, so's the dope and the music decidedly cool. Check listings to see what's on here.
Reduta
Reduta is the establishment jazz club of Prague, seasoned aficionados sit in silence as top international jazz musicians drop in on their European tour. The music is great, but being a check box on every tourist's trip to Prague can be slightly tryin
U Maleho Glena
U Maleho Glena has become an institution, known for its booking of promising young Central European talent. The tiny basement club is so intimate and small that the music positively flows through anyone who can fit into the small room by the stage.
AghaRTA Jazz Centrum
Your best bet for swinging jazz, steaming coffee and cool cocktails.
Klementinum
Part of the National Library, concerts are held in the Mirror Chapel on a daily basis. Built in 1720, the chapels marble, gilded stucco and wall-to-floor and ceiling mirrors make this a memorably romantic candlelit concert venue.
Lucerna Music Bar
Lucerna is set in the bowels of a shopping centre, not far from Wenceslas Square. During the week live music is the draw, but at weekends the cheesy club nights bring in a young, drunk crowd. Suitably hidden to keep most stags and tour groups away.
Ungelt Jazz & Blues Club
Situated in a subterranean vault from the 11th century Ungelt certainly has character. The intimate surroundings of this jazz cellar make the music sound all that much better in our opinion.
U Staré Pani
With a busy schedule of gigs lined up, the committed jazz head should not miss out on visiting 'At the old women's'.
