Sears Fine Food
Founded in 1938, not many restaurants in San Francisco stopped evolving sometime in the mid 50’s but Sears Fine Food is a Cali-French restaurant that did. And why not? Once you’ve achieved perfect pancakes-their signature dish, which happen to be Swedish-style, thin and delicious-and the bottomless coffee cup, there’s not much to improve. An enjoyable antidote to the chichi madness of Union Square, Sears is as wholesome as a cool glass of milk. Late sleepers will be happy to know that it serves breakfast until 2:30pm-and that the world-famous pancakes are available at all hours of the day.
