Patricia has come a long way since 1938. All the way from Middlesbrough in northern England, in fact. Since being launched this boat has worked as a light ship in the English channel, taken part in the evacuation of Dunkirk, and served a stint as the private yacht of H.M. Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. But don’t expect any vestige of regal splendour. Patricia will not win any prizes for its décor, and it’s far from the most sophisticated place to go out. What it is, though, is good fun. It’s unpretentious, jolly and very popular. You can have dinner in the restaurant, drink at one of five restaurants (two outdoor) and hit two dance-floors. Best of all, come in the summer to take in the panoramic view of the city and watch both the sunset and the sunrise from the deck. A must for any summer visitor.
