Solidaritet is the creation of the Ahlblom family, who are the people behind several other key nightspots in town, including Storstad (see Bars). Solidaritet took over a space previously occupied by Halv Trappa Plus Gård, which for a long time was one of the most popular clubs in the Östermalm orbit. Inside there are two dance-floors and, in the middle, a large open-air terrace. The décor is the creation of one of Sweden’s best-known architecture studios, Claesson Koivisto Rune. At Solidaritet the focus is on electronic dance music, especially house and techno. Needless to say, it pulls in a cool crowd, but the demographic of those guests skews older than in some of the nearby clubs. It’s fashionable, of course, but not painfully so.
