The White Room
It’s a transformation Clark Kent would be proud of. By day it’s just an unassuming Espresso House coffee shop, but by night it becomes one of the smaller, cooler clubs in the city. The White Room comes from a family with clubbing in its blood, being a sibling of several other ventures including Hell’s Kitchen and Sturecompagniet. Separated from the rest of the family, The White Room is located a ten-minute walk from Stureplan and it’s a sign of its popularity that it can lure the high-fashion crowd away from their usual stomping grounds to this less-than-fashionable street just off Regeringsgatan. The interior could hardly look more Scandinavian, furnished with ultra-modern white furniture bathed in flattering lighting. The Champagne-swilling crowd tends to be young and the music mainstream. If you want something a little more serious then head to Esque, which is just steps away (Regeringsgatan 61; 10pm-3am Fri-Sat), where you’ll find the latest electronic dance music with regular guest DJs.
