It’s not hard to make healthy choices at the Curman Lounge. And it’s not just because the curated menu is populated with green juices, raw snacks and vitamin-rich smoothies. Rather, the Curman Lounge itself – found within Stockholm’s luxurious Sturebadet spa – inspires the diner towards making healthier, cleaner choices.
The restaurant wraps around the glittering expanse of the pool at gallery level. But before you think of your local swimming pool (all white tile and splashing), rest assured – this is nothing like that. Resting under a vaulted glass ceiling, both the cerulean pool and the restaurant are cocooned in warm wood, from the columns to the sweeping arches. Serene people, swathed in fluffy white robes, recline on sky blue cushions on wooden deck chairs around the water, relaxing after their spa treatments. While upstairs on the third floor, cappuccinos are sipped and magazines flicked through in the restaurant as diners enjoy the second-hand relaxation that the Curman Lounge exudes.
Although it adheres to the same opening hours as the spa, visitors don’t need a membership to while away the hours in the Curman Lounge. Simply the urge for good food in a stylish spot. The breakfasts here take the form of a nourishing buffet, with yoghurts, fresh berries, eggs and fresh-baked breads. While lunch introduces sandwiches, salads and soups. You can even grab a lunch to take away, if you’d like to enjoy some of the Curman Lounge zen in a different spot. Although, considering how picturesque the Lounge is, it’s hard to imagine why you’d ever want to leave.
