Sydney Dance Company
If you want to see some dance in Sydney, then the roster of explosively creative, dynamic, highly physical and, at times, raunchy performances that are drummed up at Sydney Dance Company by the superstar Spanish-born dancer, choreographer and artistic director Rafael Bonachela should definitely be on your list. The company performs all around Australia, but in Sydney performances usually show at the Opera House and the Sydney Theatre across the road from its headquarters in Walsh Bay. If you’re lucky, you could catch a free show on stage for Festival Inside Out chapter of the annual Sydney Festival. If you want to learn some ballet, hip-hop, funk or simply wiggle your spirit fingers in a jazz class, the SDC dance lessons cost a mere $18 and run every day – check the website for timetables.
