The Rothschild 71
Found in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site that is the White City in Tel Aviv, a stay at The Rothschild 71 puts you in ambling distance of the many Bauhaus buildings found in the area, not to mention the Great Synagogue and the Carmel Market. In fact, The Rothschild itself is housed in a pristinely preserved 1934 Bauhaus-style apartment block. Inside, however, it’s an exercise in chic, contemporary design, with stylish furnishings, a cool colour palette, and warm wooden floors. Some rooms even have balconies looking out over the tree-lined Rothschild Boulevard, one of the city’s most fashionable addresses, with numerous cafes, bars and restaurants dotted along its length.
Speaking of the accommodation here, it’s worth mentioning the amenities. From the Egyptian cotton linens to the espresso machines and high-tech flatscreen set-ups (including Wii consoles and DVDs upon request), every effort has been made to ensure guests’ comfort. You can even book spa treatments in your room for added decadence. But for a truly memorable stay, the light and airy Rothschild 71 Suite has its own wrap-around rooftop sun terrace, as well as a fully-stocked kitchen and dining area.
