With everything under one all-encompassing roof, Village Montana is one of the most impressive places to stay in Tignes, a mammoth-sized mega-resort that comprises two hotels, a slew of chalets, four restaurants, two bars and two spas. Indeed, if it wasn’t for the snow-covered slopes outside there really wouldn’t be any reason to leave. The four-star Les Suites du Montana has 27 sumptuous suites, each sleeping two to four people and featuring fabulous fireplaces with traditional Austrian stoves. The other hotel, the three-star Hotel Montana, also has a selection of stylish rooms that sleep between two and four, while eight apartments at the Residences sleep 10. Perfect for families and group holidays. When it comes to fine dining, traditional mountain cuisine can be found at Les Chanterelles restaurant, with a choice between a five-course set menu or a la carte. Alternatively, La Chaumiere offers Savoyard specialties such as fondue, tartiflettes and raclattes. The third restaurant, La Rotisserie, is all about gorgeous gourmet fare such as lobster, turbot or beef, while La Place is a casual ski-to-door bar that’s perfect for on-the-go pizzas and snacks. And if you’ve got a thirst on, there are two bars in which to enjoy hot chocolate or pre-dinner cocktails; we know what we prefer! Finishing things off are two on-site spas, which will help even the most stressed-out skier to rest and relax after a day on the slopes; amenities include an outdoor Nordic pool (heated to 32 degrees) a selection of saunas, Jacuzzi and a Alpine water hydro massage shower. Phew! With all that, you’ll be hard pressed to leave.
