For a less demanding an alternative to the Percee or the Grand Motte, try the Brévières sector. Ski down to the top of the Aiguille Rouge chair, then pick up the Glattier – a wide, off-piste area overlooking the dammed Lac du Chevril. Tignes is largely above the tree line, leaving few opportunities to weave between the spruces in Christmas Card conditions. For tree thrills, take the Tovière chair at 2,704-metres behind LeLavachet and take your pick of runs down towards Lac Du Chevril; veer off to the right and pick up the Triffolet red run into La Daille to hitch a ride back up the mountain. The alternative is to order up a helicopter for the return home.
