Hilton Garden Inn
Modern design with a nod to the Art Deco movement isn’t very Hilton-like, but here it is – near the theatres of the Entertainment District just north of King Street. Rooms have beds with adjustable firmness settings, free Internet access, coffee makers and, intriguingly, microwaves (you can buy frozen meals from the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry.)
‘Oversized’ rooms come with fireplaces and bling-bling Jacuzzi bathtubs with chromotherapy lighting (for the uninitiated, that’s underwater lights that change colour). There’s a gym, a pool, a restaurant and all that other standard Hilton stuff. But for food, don’t even think about it: have a Tuscan binge one block east in Tutti Matti (see Eat).
