One King West
A 51-story tower (nicknamed ‘The Sliver’ because of it’s skinniness) was adjoined for its reincarnation as a hotel and residences in 2005. Now, when clients hand over their cash here, they get a light-filled suite with expansive views of the city in return.
The higher up the building, the smaller the footprint – so the more corners and vistas to the suites (each with long-stay facilities: kitchen, washing machine and coffee maker). In the heritage building where the lobby is located, many of the original features remain, including the big, bad bank vault.
