L’Aigle des Neiges
None of the other hotels in Val d’Isere invite you to indulge as much as L’Aigle des Neiges. Part of the Temnos Hotel Group – with properties in Chamonix, Megeve and Les Arcs – the renovated former Latitudes Hotel has been turned into the chic L’Aigle des Neiges.
The reception, all cobbled stones and apple green walls, belies a contemporary approach to design. Even the standard rooms show a great attention to detail with rough-hewn furniture, practical layouts, and a simple, fresh colour palette. Downstairs, Le Pier makes use of the freshest produce available from local markets and the sensational seasonal menu strikes the perfect balance between filling and gourmet. Le Paul is more design-conscious, and the space, complete with antler chandelier, takes a more gastronomic approach to the food, eschewing regional cooking for something a little more haute.
Finally, Le Jack is the hotel bar, with cowhide stools and a zinc-topped bar and fresh green colour scheme. A Thalgo spa offers a series of revitalising treatments for both men and women, and the basement pool allows guests to soak away their aches.
