La Table de l’Ours
There are only two restaurants in Val d’Isère with a Michelin star, and one of them is La Table de l’Ours in the five-star Hotel Les Barmes de l’Ours. High on price and minimalist on portions, it’s everything you’d expect of a Michelin-starred establishment – and so much more.
Savour every mouthful, especially the kitchen’s own take on tartiflette – a mountain staple given a Michelin-worthy twist with pork belly pieces stuffed with truffles and mouthwatering pieces of lamb.
Much like a Ramsay joint, the occasional outburst from the kitchen (courtesy of chef Alain Lamaison) always livens up the atmosphere. It’s worth nothing that the hotel has two other highly-rated restaurants, too; Le Coin Savoyard, where the accent is on fondue and charcuterie, and the rustic, buffet-style La Rotisserie. In short, a must-eat destination.
