Nietturm Fumoir LaSalle
A stunning glass cube sailing high above the Schiffbau, Nietturm was designed by LaSalle restaurant’s Peter Kern and is run by the same team. A split-level affair, the lower floor is dominated by a large modern bar, on top is a lounge with low-level black leather seats and a large piano. Common to both are amazing panoramic views of the city skyline and a range of carefully selected wines, classic cocktails, champagne and spirits.
One of Zürich’s few fumoirs (smoking bars), the managers keep this on the quiet to ensure the bar remains a haven for their sophisticated guests. Attracting a stylish, 30-something plus crowd, the bar is immensely popular from Thursday to Saturday, but any day of the week, drinks at Nietturm are the perfect adjunct to dinner at LaSalle. Head upstairs, order a digestif and a cigar and hope you catch one of the monthly piano evenings.
