Elegant but informal, the Antinori’s Zürich outpost has
oodles of Tuscan charm. With tables covered in crisp white linen spilling out
onto a shady, cobbled street, the siren call of a glass of prosecco and light summer lunch at Cantinetta Antinori is hard to
resist. On rainy days and cool evenings the wood-panelled interior is equally welcoming.
The menu is simplicity itself, a small selection of Tuscan classics augmented
by a smattering of specials and an excellent truffle menu; if you really want
to go to town, we highly recommend the tagliolini
with truffle cream and extra truffles. The wine list showcases the Antinori
oeuvre, from Italy and its lesser
known overseas vineyards: the light, quaffable Villa Antinori is perfect for a
light lunch on a summer’s day; block buster reds like the Tignanello are likely
to seduce you into a long evening of over-indulgence and rounded off with a grappa or two.
