Embodying the contrasts that make Zürich such an intriguing
place this lakeside campsite has a renowned restaurant and bar in an attractive
wooden building, frequented by an interesting mix of well-heeled locals, young
hipsters and the odd gourmet from the tents.
In common with restaurateur,
Michel Péclard’s, other restaurants, Fischer’s Fritz showcases local cuisine,
so local in fact that they even have their own fisherman, Adrian Gerny, and the
menu depends on his prowess that day on the lake. Particularly delicious is the
knusperli (fried fish) served with
buttery potatoes and tangy tartar sauce and chef, Tony Schwörer recently trained
under sushi chefs in Japan to perfect his lake-fish sushi, however carnivores
will not be disappointed.
On a warm evening trestle tables spill out onto the
grass in front of lake, but for the best views of Zürich and the lake, head
upstairs onto the wooden balcony.
