Lakeside dining and fantastic views come as standard at Zürich’s favourite summer restaurant. With simple wooden tables on a large decked jetty, it would be impossible to be any closer to the lake without being in it.
Start the evening with a drink at the bar; an immensely popular meeting point for Wollishofen, Enge and Kilchberg’s smart residents, it has a touch of Côte d’Azure glamour about it. The French connection is reinforced by the Bordeaux-heavy wine list and menu of retro-classic Mediterranean sunshine including bisque d’hommard, sôle entier grillée and the ever-popular tournedos de boeuf. Everyone but everyone comes here; gorgeous 20-something hipsters revving up for a night out cheek by jowl with families and well-heeled locals.
The dress code is whatever you want it to be, from Blahniks to boating shoes (the latter only if you have arrived by speedboat, bien sûr). There is a stylish inside restaurant and Seerose work hard to make it a year round destination with winter fondue and cocktails, but summer is the time to come. Book well in advance, request a table as near to the lake as possible, then cross your fingers and hope for sunshine.
