ETH, Prints and Drawings
The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology is the unlikely
venue for this stunningly extensive collection. Founded in 1867, ETH has been
picking up the work of major collectors ever since, taking their current
inventory to over 150,000 individual prints and drawings. From the 15th
century to the present, the collection features prints by Old Masters including
Rembrandt and Dürer and Goya but also has work by Andy Warhol.
In recent years
the collection has focused on acquiring graphic art from the late 20th
and early 21st century. The prints and drawings are displayed in
quarterly thematic or artists-focused exhibitions, from the work of Fransico de
Goya to the Art of Lithography.
