Paris – Nuit Blanche
This all-night arts crawl sees galleries, museums and book stores open from dawn to dusk, with plenty of edgy events, concerts and installations (many of them light-based), as culture vultures explore the streets by moonlight and usually have a tipple or two along the way. Check out Hg2 Paris.
The month of October, Sydney transforms into a foodie’s playground, with hundreds culinary events taking place across the city’s restaurants, bars and parks. Getting high for the past 25 years, the Cannabis Cup celebrates one of Amsterdam’s favourite pastimes: hash. Judges sample and vote for the best varieties of marijuana alongside a series of concerts, gigs and a whole pot-expo full of hash paraphernalia. Check out Hg2 Amsterdam.
Queens and queer-lovers from all over Miami and beyond don their white best for this week of to-dos in support of HIV/AIDS research. Events range from the signature White Journey kickoff dance event to the White Party itself, a white-clad gala event. Check out Hg2 Miami.
And if you’re looking for some great August bank holiday events in London, we’d suggest the Guilty Pleasures Cinema Party at the Troxy Cinema in Limehouse or the Bookstock 2012 street festival hosted by the ever-hip Book Club in Shoreditch.
